About Open Campus Academy
It's not the hours you put in your work that count, it's the work you put into your hours." ~ Sam Ewing
Open Campus Academy provides an independent learning environment featuring site-based online coursework with one-on-one teacher support. In essence, students come to school to complete their online coursework in computer lab classrooms with a content-certified teacher available to assist on an individual basis as needed. Open Campus Academy offers students the opportunity to complete high school coursework at a personally determined pace. The program offers students some flexibility to adjust their daily schedule to meet personal demands, pace their coursework to achieve academic goals, and work with content-specific certified Fayette County teachers to gain an in-depth understanding of content area skills and concepts. Using standards-based curricula from Edgenuity, a leader in virtual education, students encounter all the rigor and depth of courses taught in traditional settings but do so at a pace that aligns with their individual academic strengths. The faculty and staff at Open Campus Academy are dedicated to offering instruction and assistance tailored to each individual student’s educational needs, providing academic support to remediate or reinforce student learning. The flexibility and individualized nature of Open Campus Academy, paired with the structure of on-site learning make Open Campus Academy the perfect fit for many of Fayette’s diverse population.
Bus transportation is not provided for Open Campus Academy students. Students who wish to attend Open Campus Academy must provide their own transportation.
